Awesome action in Sydney's urban centre.

A challenging and thought-provoking project, Fitzroy Gardens offered only a small play space, and required the same approach a designer might take to restoring an heirloom to former glory. With consideration given to the original works from the 1970s, the park was opened in 2014, and its intelligent design provides a high-quality, strong and safe playground in the heart of Kings Cross.

The architect was keen to use colours that blend with the broader park, introducing a pop of a vibrant orange to reflect its retro past. The use of swings, climbing structure, nature play, and a shiny wide slide make this an inviting playground in a dense city landscape.
